An advice for teenagers :D

Hello Everybody :D
Today I am posting another interesting fact about my project. Please read through this article if you have time. I am 100% sure that this is true because I've seen a lot of people who haven't tried drinking or smoking in their middle school and it's easier to keep that in high school. So here it is :D
There is so much negativity around teenagers that it is a breath of fresh air to hear about a program that is making a positive impact. The Communities That Care program is one such program that is helping to stop the negative behaviors of smoking, drinking, and crime that, in media stories, are often shown to be linked to teens across the United States.
The goal of this program, which truly is community-based and led, is to help teens avoid alcohol and tobacco use as well as help stop them from engaging in violent or criminal behaviors. Research shows that when teens avoid exposure to these negative influences during their middle school years, they are much less likely to develop ongoing addiction and behavioral problems. This includes the use of tobacco and alcohol, where research now shows that avoiding use of these substances until after 18 years of age leads to much lower risk of their use as the teens move into adulthood.
I hope this was interesting to you. Please follow me on Twitter: @MoldirfromKZ and watch my video on Youtube which I'll be posting soon. Thank you for your attention!

A new story :) Really interesting :D

Hello to everyone again :) I've been reading this articles a lot and look what I've found!
The study was part of the ongoing Physicians’ Health Study. It followed over 18,000 men ages 40 to 84, who were free from heart disease and cancer at the time the study began. The volunteers were questioned about their alcohol intake at the study’s start. After seven years, their drinking habits were reassessed to see if changes in the men’s alcohol consumption over this time influenced their risk of heart disease.
The researchers found that men who started the study as very light drinkers (one alcoholic beverage a week or less) and gradually increased their intake to 6 drinks per week slightly reduced their risk of heart disease compared to light drinkers whose intake did not change over time. Men who were moderate drinkers (1-6 drinks per week) at the study’s beginning did not alter their heart disease risk whether or not they increased or decreased alcohol consumption. Those that consumed more than one drink a day had the same disease risk throughout the study, even if they were drinking less after seven years. Regular consumption of more than two drinks a day, though, increased the men’s risk of heart disease by 63%.
Look at thiiiis! Regular consumption of more than two drinks a day, though, increased the men’s risk of heart disease by 63%!
There have been a lot of researches over the time and they help a lot. People read them and try to change the situation. They believe it. And they should!
I am proud I'm doing this project. I feel like I am helping a lot of people even by telling them these stories :)

We can help you!

Drinking and Smoking can damage your health and even kill you!
Few days ago I found news about smoking and drinking and what happens to people. I was shocked what people do. I've read this article and just though "this might be happening everywhere". People try to stop drinking or smoking or even both but they can't. I feel sorry for them but on the other hand there are people who are trying to help them and make them realize that it all will get worse. This is what I've read:
Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, under huge pressure to quit after he admitted smoking crack cocaine, has said he was getting help for a drinking problem, but offered no indication that he might step down.
"I want to apologise for my graphic remarks this morning," Mr Ford said in the latest of a string of apologies, his wife, Renata, standing at his side.
"For the past six months I have been under tremendous, tremendous stress."
He added: "I fully realise in the past I have drank alcohol in excess. I wish you to know that I'm receiving support from a team of healthcare professionals."
Pressure started building on Mr Ford this spring, when reporters with the Toronto Star and US media blog Gawker said they had seen a cellphone video that appeared to show the mayor smoking crack cocaine.
Mr Ford spent months denying he used crack, but admitted this month he had done so "in one of my drunken stupors," and apologized. He conceded on Wednesday that he had also bought illegal drugs, and again apologized for his mistakes. Today, he admitted he had driven after drinking alcohol.
The Toronto city council - which does not have the power to fire Ford - on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted to urge him to take time off and deal with his personal problems. He says he will not quit.
I am surprised what's happening in this world. I am pretty sure some people in my country have the same problem. I want to help them. I want to make them believe this is real. Maybe it won't change a lot but still I want to try it. I think people should know what life means and how easily you can destroy it.
Thank you, GNML for starting this project!

Hi! My name is Moldir and I am an exchange student from Kazakhstan, currently living in Kansas, Valley Center. I am really excited about this program and doing this project, because it makes me feel like I can really help the community and maybe change the world. I am only 17 years old but I like thinking of the world problems and try to think of solutions. I never thought I could actually make a project.
So our task was to find the main issue that is happening in our country. I am sure every country has its own problems but I think the problem that I chose may be happening in many countries. I want to help people realize that smoking and alcohol can damage your health or even worse - kill you. A lot of people know its importance but they don't realize that nothing's changing. And I want to change that. This is a fact I read recently: Smoking directly causes over 100,000 deaths in the UK each year and contributes to many more.

I want to say NO to alcohol and smoking!!!

So I want to help people by creating a blog and and encourage them to read and support this idea. I am planning on making posters and put them on walls of school and other buildings.( By asking the permission) Also I want to use social media like twitter, facebook and even instagram by posting those images with signs. I want to try to make short movies about how dangerous it is. It probably will not be perfect at first but still I want to try it. It is going to be worth it.

"100,000 deaths is too much. Help us change the number!"

"Is smoking and alcohol worth our lives? I don't think so!"
