Alcohol Addiction

In this video you'll see how a person gets addicted to alcohol in 7th grade, 13 years old. He talks about how hard it was and how he wanted to give up but would always say "It's not going to be today". Watch how his live changes :)

X Factor news :)

Hey :)
This might be interesting for those who watch X Factor :D
So do you know Simon? in my opinion he is a really strict judge :D I found out that every time he goes to work in the morning he drinks vodka and smokes in order to think right. And apparently it's too hard for him to give it up, even when he just became a dad.
Simon Cowell has admitted that he drinks every night and that he needs alcohol to get him to his ‘happy place’ at 2am every morning.
The music mogul is one of the most recognizable and successful men in the world but it seems that comes with it’s own pressures and in order to wind down the X Factor boss drinks vodka in the early hours in a bid to de-stress.
The star told The Radio Times that his alcohol consumption helps ‘spark creativity’ also but since he’s rather health conscious, he takes a myriad of supplements, vitamins and smoothies to counteract the effects of his drinking and smoking.
Simon has always been a heavy smoker and despite attempts to quit, it seems he just loves the deadly habit too much to give up. He said:

“If I tried to cut out cigarettes completely, I would have a real problem: too boring. It’s the same with drinking.”
“For me, one or two in the morning, couple of vodka and limes, couple of cigarettes, I’m in a calm place: I can think.”
Simon recently became a dad for the first time and has been snapped strutting his stuff on Miami beach with girlfriend Lauren Silverman and baby Eric on a number of occasions this week.

Social Media

Hello everyone :)
For this project I've been using a lot of various webpages and apps. I would like to share how I would use them in the future and how they would help me out :)
Let's start with Facebook :)
Our favorite app we use almost every day. I am sure you have a lot of Facebook pages you like: actors, movies, music or books. I have a lot :) And I like to read information in them  all the time. So now that I have a Facebook page designed for "Healthy Life" people all around the world could read it and also share!
Blogger!
I use Blogger probably every day. For this project, my school and even my friends. You can add music, videos, pictures and links. You could write with different fonts. Isn't it amazing? And then you share it. People find one blog they like and start following the news. So if I constantly advertise it in the future I might have hundreds of people following my blog posts!
Instagram!
What an amazing app! And everyone uses it to share pictures and videos. There's our future. If you have enough followers you could start adding pictures or interesting videos for your project. I do that. Even tiny information can change something. I have 110 followers (probably not much), and if I post a picture at least 15 of them would like it. And that's another way to share something.
Twitter!
I heard teenagers can't live without twitter. It's exaggeration. BUT it has a point in it. Twitter is worldwide. I can post a fact about my social campaign and people I don't even know can read it. Just think about it. In 20 days someone can be famous only because of one post. Still a progress!
YouTube!
When you think about it you imagine movies, music, video clips and etc. But we could use in a very useful way :) Sometimes I use it to find a very interesting material for my project, like I found about a Harry Potter star.( read the previous post) So in the future not only my country but also the whole world would see what I have.
LinkedIn!
I downloaded the app only 2 weeks ago and as far as I know in the future we could see what other people reached and try to do the same. Ask them for advices and follow the instructions :)

A little bit of politics :)

So in my U.S. government class we read a lot of stories about politics :) And it shocked me what Barack Obama said about alcohol. It may shock you too :)
Barack Obama says smoking marijuana no more dangerous than drinking alcohol

HE'S admitted "smoking pot" as a kid and now President Barack Obama has declared that marijuana is no more dangerous to your health than alcohol.
In a wide-ranging interview with New Yorker magazine, the US leader said while the controversial drug is "not very healthy", it isn't as harmful as some people insist.
"As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don't think it is more dangerous than alcohol," he said.
Controversial ... Marijuana laws.

When asked if it was less dangerous that marijuana, Mr Obama cautiously said it was "in terms of its impact on the individual consumer".
"It's not something I encourage, and I've told my daughters I think it's a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy," he said.

Smoking is 1st and drinking the 4th!

Hey :D News! This time short :D
So I found out something you might find interesting. Sounds funny but you've got the point :D
Each year, 88,000 people in the U.S. die due to excessive drinking.
Alcohol is the fourth-most-common underlying cause of death (smoking is number 1), and a Jan. 7 report from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that at least 38 million Americans drink too much (even if they aren't alcoholics).
Not only is that bad for our health, but it's also an expensive problem: In 2006, excessive drinking cost the economy $224 billion.
The good news is that brief screenings and interventions — a quick conversation with a health provider (or even filling out a form) and some structured follow-up — work well in curbing problem drinking.
The bad news? The vast majority of doctors aren't broaching the topic with their patients. Only one in six doctors say they routinely ask their patients about their drinking habits, a number that hasn't budged in years.
As a result, two-thirds of those who binge drink on a regular basis — the kind of people who might not be traditional alcoholics, but need help controlling their drinking — say they haven't discussed their drinking with their doctors.
I thought drinking was the first. That's why it shocked me.
